Bite-Sized Reviews for Board & Video Games (with Paw-sitivity!)
Hi there, and welcome to my blog!
Why This Blog Exists
Like many gamers, I have:
- A Steam library overflowing with games I’ve never finished (or even installed), and
- A board game collection slowly taking over the house!
If you’re curious, you can see the full Steam library here and the entire board game collection here.
My mission? I plan to work through both collections one game at a time. I will write short, snappy reviews anyone can read over a coffee break. Expect humour, honesty, and more dog puns than strictly necessary.
What to Expect
Each review will include:
- A few Images: Screenshots for video games, box/table photos for board games.
- TL;DR Section: One-sentence summary for busy humans (and impatient dogs).
- 6 Paw Ratings: Covering fun, depth, accessibility, presentation, pacing, and value.
- Overall Verdict: From Chef’s Kiss to Leave it in the yard.
I’m keeping things simple, playful, and spoiler-free. Whether it’s a PC classic or a modern eurogame, you’ll know in five minutes if it’s worth your evening.
The Paw-Based Rating System 🐾
This highly scientific, totally serious system rates each game on:
| Score | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 0 🐾 | Ruff. Leave it in the yard |
| 1–2 🐾 | Patchy. Some bones buried in the mud |
| 3 🐾 | Solid Sit. Worth a few walks |
| 4 🐾 | Good Doggo. Tail-wagging fun |
| 5 🐾 | Chef’s Kiss. Full-park zoomies |
Each review covers:
- Tail-Wag Fun: Is it actually enjoyable or all bark, no bite?
- Fetch-Depth: Replayability, strategy, or systems depth.
- Belly-Rub Accessibility: Easy to learn? Friendly onboarding?
- Drool-Worthy Presentation: Looks, sound, and table/PC presence.
- Zoomies & Flow: Pacing, downtime, or mission cadence.
- Treat Value: Price vs. replay hours (or “pennies per wag”).
What’s Coming Up
I’ll be alternating between:
- Board games — from quick party fillers to heavier strategy titles, and
- Steam games — including the long-forgotten indie darlings hiding in my library.
Expect the first reviews soon — complete with screenshots, ratings, and perhaps a few questionable puns.
I may also on occasion share whatever or wherever I am in the world. This is especially true if it’s photogenic, unusual, interesting, or just because I feel like it.
