TL;DR: An out of this world stellar space adventure, full of heart, humor, and teamwork, proving this pack of misfits can really lead the chase. Probably the best Marvel game, great story, graphics, soundtrack, and character voicing.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is a third-person action-adventure game where you step into the boots of Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord, leading the Guardians through an original, story-driven cosmic romp. Unlike the Telltale narrative game, this version blends combat, exploration, and cinematic storytelling in a full-scale single-player adventure.
How it Plays
You directly control Star-Lord in combat, dual-wielding blasters and issuing commands to your teammates, Rocket, Groot, Drax, and Gamora, each with unique abilities. Outside of combat, the game emphasizes dialogue choices, exploration of vibrant alien worlds, and bonding with your crew. The tone mirrors the comics and films: witty banter, wild set-pieces, and emotional beats that deepen the team’s relationships. What makes it stand out is its character writing, the Guardians feel alive, constantly chatting, joking, and arguing, creating one of the most engaging single-player Marvel experiences to date.
