TL;DR: An explosive blast from top-down mayhem: great for co-op chaos, but its sprint of a campaign and slippery controls dog-paddle into mixed waters.

Would I play this instead of tidying the kitchen? [Maybe].

What is it?

Renegade Ops is a top-down vehicle-based action shooter. You pick one of four (or more with DLC ) heroes, hop into upgradeable combat vehicles and tear through missions to stop a tyrant named Inferno.

How it Plays

Drive and shoot in destructible environments, collect power-ups, switch weapons and use each hero’s special ability (like EMP blasts or heavy guns). The campaign is short (~5-9 missions), but there’s replay value via higher difficulties and co-op for up to four players. DLC adds a 2nd campaign a new villain, and a few more heroes.

Good Doggo (Pros)

• Explosive visuals and satisfying destruction make this very enjoyable.
• Strong co-op fun: teaming up ramps up the chaos and enjoyment.
• Simple to pick up and play, great for a quick blast.

Ruff Spots (Cons)

• Short campaign length and limited mission variety make the game feel brief.
• Driving controls and vehicle handling are particularly bad.
• Not much incentive to replay unless chasing high scores is your thing.

Verdict

Renegade Ops delivers immediate, high-octane action in a slick package, its perfect for friends, quick sessions or if you just want explosions. However, the brevity, control quirks and limited depth mean it won’t keep you engaged for the long haul unless you’re committed to replaying with others or hunting scores. And some issues with UI scaling at modern high resolutions ( in particular the map , and in game text is very small.
